Very Good Reference Text
This is a great text full of useful information on over 400 chemicals. The text offers information on melting point, density, Henry's law constant, soil sorption coefficient, octanol/water partition coefficient, solubility in organics and water, vapor density and pressure. The text includes a section on each chemical discussing environmental fate, toxicity, drinking water standard and use of each chemical. I've found this book very helpful over the last 10 years.

A WONERFUL LOOK AT THE CREATION OF THE CONSTITUTION
FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE CREATION OF OUR CONSTITUTION THIS IS THE BOOK TO READ. WILLIAM MEGIS MAKES THIS HISTORY COME ALIVE. IT IS TRULY EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND. HIS MANNER OF WRITING IS OUTSTANDING IN THAT IT IS NOT JUST A DRY REPORT OF WHAT HAPPENED WHEN MADISON AND HIS ASSOCIATES SAT DOWN TO A VERY DIFFICULT TASK. IT IS VERY INTERESTING HOW THE DIFFERENT ARTICLES,SECTIONS, AND CLAUSES WERE HASHED AROUND BACK AND FORTH AND HOW COMPROMISE PREVAILED........

Harlequin Unmasked: The Commedia dell'Arte and Porcelain Sculpture

Authors: Meredith Chilton, Domenico Pietropaolo, and Alexandra Montgomery

Exquisite
This book, received as a gift, is one of the finest and most enjoyable art books I've read (in several decades of reading books on art). It covers the history and technique in detail - along with the behind-the-scenes stories and fascinating intrigue related to the theatre, the factories, and the courts of the period. The prose is authoritative and lively, and the color plates are absolutely breathtaking. It's exquisitely produced - a coffee table book that captivates all my guests.

A Great "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" For Younger Kids...
I love "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" stories, and this largely light-hearted one is great for the younger kids. As to the storyline(s), I offer but one piece of advice: don't take candy from strangers -- especially if they're Furry Turtles! :)

The Heart of the Cross
Published in Hardcover by Crossway Books (February, 1999)
Authors: Philip Graham Ryken and James Montgomery Boice
Average review score:

Excellent.
What a beautiful book! The striking cover and delicately decorated pages give this expository work on the Cross the appeal of a gift book, but with the depth and insight appropriate for serious Bible study. "The Heart of the Cross" is divided into three parts: "Words from the Cross" (an in-depth look at each of the final words of Christ from the cross, "The Real Last Words of Christ" (a study of the sayings of Jesus during the 40 days after his resurrection), and "The Message of the Cross" (which examines key New Testament verses regarding Christ's work on the cross). Many parts of this book have evangelistic overtones, making it a suitable book for giving to a non-Christian friend open to hearing the Gospel message.

I definitely recommend this book to Christians interested in knowing Christ and his work on the cross more intimately. This high quality book would also make a great gift.

I am so glad that someone has taken the intitive to write about this town that I call my home. The book was filled with amazing details and grand photographs. I would like to recommend it to anyone who has interests in genology and in the past. This was a marvel and a wonderful addition to my collection of books that I love to read. I give it 5 stars but if it went higher I would have to rate it the highest possible.

The History of the Holt Street Church of Christ: And Its Role in Establishing Churches of Christ Among African Americans in Central Alabama 1928-1997

Authors: Pearl Gray Daniels and Thomas W. Gray

Pearl's book encompasses the paths Christian people.
A BOOK REVIEW By Charlie J. Black

All of the three decades that I have known Pearl Gray Daniels, she has been involved with the pulse beat of people.

Uniquely, Pearl's growing up in the "Holt Street Church of Christ" lead her to being curious about "Its Role in Establishing Churches of Christ Among African Americans in Central Alabama." Thus, the basis of this book.

This book evolved through Pearl's entire life. A life that commenced with the uniting of her parents, Abraham and Nancy Jones Gray. A family that would include four brothers; one being Fred D. Gray, who, himself, would, at age 12, become a minister of the Church of Christ.

Pearl's book encompasses the paths and the paths of people who, because of the church, were able to survive in time of crisis; most notably, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, of which her 'baby' brother Fred was legal counsel.

In formulating this book, Pearl saw Alabama from a different prospective than a lot of her contemporaries. Before public education was taken for granted for black people, Pearl studied at Stillman College, a Presbyterian institution, and taught in Presbyterian schools in Wilcox County, Alabama.

Education, like church, to Pearl, is a continuing process. She has always been active in alumni organizations of Alabama State University and Stillman College. In Texas, in honor of her mother, Mrs. Nancy Jones Gray Arms, Pearl set up a scholarship at Southwestern Christian College.

Through Pearl's eyes, not only does the Holt Street Church of Christ have an illustrious past, it has a very promising future.
